Is Anybody Using
This Password?

You've been told not to reuse passwords.
But what about everyone else?

Security experts say: "Don't reuse passwords."
Excellent advice. Very straightforward. No notes.

But while you’re out here forging an artisanal 32-character password by hand, a more pressing question remains:

What if somebody else got there first? Is anybody already using that password?

In the interest of public service, we built a database to find out.

How your password is handled

Your password is converted to a SHA-256 hash right here in your browser before anything is sent — the raw password never leaves your device. Only the hash travels over HTTPS to our server, and only the hash is stored. We cannot reverse it back to your password. No raw passwords ever touch our network, logs, or database.

Friendly reminder: Entering real passwords into random websites is generally a terrible idea — including this one. Please use a password manager and unique passwords for accounts that actually matter.
